From June 5 to 6, 2025, the China Association of Special Equipment Inspection (CASEI) successfully held the "2025 Public Welfare Training and Drill on Emergency Response to Gamma Ray Radiography Testing for Special Equipment Nondestructive Testing Institutions" in Zibo, Shandong Province, The event was themed around"Strengthening Radiation Safety Awareness and Enhancing Emergency Response Capabilities". It was jointly guided by the Department of Radiation Source Safety Supervision of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Special Equipment Safety Supervision Bureau of the State Administration for Market Regulation.Nearly 300 participants from 164 special equipment NDT institutions holding radiation safety licenses took part in the activity.

During the training session, experts delivered lectures on on key topics such as the causes of radiation accidents, equipment fault identification, radiation monitoring, and radiation emergency response and disposal. Additionally, they demonstrated faulty components and conducted simulation exercises to showcase practical drills.

The drill simulated two typical accident scenarios in gamma ray flaw detection operations: "radioactive source loss" and "radioactive source detachment". Participating institutions responded promptly in accordance with emergency plans, demonstrating close coordination and precise execution throughout the entire process—from incident reporting and site cordoning to emergency handling, radiation monitoring, and personnel health tracking. Through close observation of these exercises, attendees gained a deeper understanding of radiation safety procedures and accumulated practical experience.

This event effectively enhanced industry-wide awareness of radiation safety and improved emergency response capabilities,strengthening the line of defense for public health and ecological environment safety.
